Module synopses

1. Management of Corporate Strategy

This course explains the concept and theory of corporate strategy management. Its main content includes the essence of the corporation strategy, the analysis of the corporation strategy, and the selection of the corporation strategy and the implementing of the corporation. After learning this course, students should understand the essence of the corporation strategy, grasp the analytic skills on environment, resource and strategy, as well as know how to select among corporate strategies and how to carry the corporate strategy into execution.

 

2. International Economics

International Economics is the economics that researches the collocation optimization of scarce resources in the whole world. It mainly includes the microcosmic part which mostly illustrates the basement and police of international trade including trade theory, trade policy and practice, international production elements flow and so on; the macrocosmic part which mostly discusses international finance issues including foreign exchange theory and policy, international income and expenses theory and policy, international currency system etc. compared with international trade, international finance and international business, international economics pays more.

 

3. Management psychology

Management psychology from many perspectives has long been regarded as an art for one to gain insight of the science. It is a young, human-oriented discipline recently adopted in management science by managers for enterprises to support their work. Understanding workplace human psychology and behaviour are key to human resource management in enterprises of sizes which develop human assets as instruments to achieve operation effectiveness and productivity, for economical and behavioural perspectives. Employees learn the practices for self-development as they grow and inspire to become a manager, in their workplaces.

This course aims to provide learners with adequate knowledge and skills of workplace psychology, develop understanding of organizational behaviors applicable to workplaces. It prepares them in leading and managing skills for team management.

 

4. Leadership

Leadership development entails nurturing, encouraging, incubating, and mentoring prospective leaders. Leadership skill training provides the essential skills that are required to successfully lead any team. Key characteristics that are essential in any outstanding leader are maintaining effective communication, motivating team members, adapting to changing environments, delegating tasks in an appropriate manner, transparency and honesty, confidence, and a positive attitude.

 

5. Innovation management

This unit aims to equip learners with a comprehensive understanding of innovation and commercialization in the business context of Small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In today’s competitive landscape it is critical that an organization continually innovate both their product or service offering and various internal and external processes in good value in order to ensure that its business remains competitive in the global market context.

Furthermore, adopting a more commercially driven approach is vital as an organization communicates well of its innovation intent and process to various stakeholders that ensure attraction of adequate investment and return on Investment (ROI). In this unit, it provides learning using a number of tools and techniques that many organizations use to drive ideas and become viable innovative concepts which can be developed for commercialization, in practical time to market.

The aim of the unit is to provide learners with practical knowledge and practices of the key ways organizations become more innovative while remaining externally stakeholder-driven.

Student should know that it takes a special kind of person to set an idea in motion, riding the highs and lows from humble beginnings to ultimate success.
