B.   Overview

The Diploma in Financial Management integrates modern business management skills and accounting skills to efficiently manage a business or in business development. This Diploma is appropriate for students who are already in a relevant role, and for those aspiring to a role where they are responsible for the detailed recording of all the financial transactions of a business, maintaining these records using double-entry bookkeeping and for ensuring that all monetary transactions made by the business are recorded accurately.

Marketing

This course explains the basic theory, knowledge and skills and techniques of marketing, and combines with case study to promote student’s ability of problem analyzing and solving. After learning this course, students should grasp the knowledge including basic concepts of marketing, marketing management, analysis of marketing environment, market research and prediction, customer behaviour, competitors and competition strategies, marketing in a target market, product and analyzing and marketing strategies, price decision and price strategic choice, marketing channels as well as it’s selection and management, the promotion of product and the selection of promotion strategies, corporation identity design and treatment with the crises when company encountered, etc.

Human Resource Management

The content covers human resource management introduction, planning, analysis, recruitment and employment, performance management, compensation management, training, career development, labour relationship and human resource management in a cross-culture environment, etc. After learning, students should grasp the basic theory and method of human resource management, and know the common procedure of human resource management in companies.

Principle of Management

The module aims to equip learners with basic theory, knowledge and skills and techniques of management, and combines with case study to promote student’s ability of problem analysing and solving. After learning this module, students should grasp the basic theory and technique of management; know the history of the development of theories and ideas of management; master the basic function of management such as plan, organization, lead, control, etc, as well as their correlations; gasp the analytical skills of management environment and method; know how to set-up the management goal; gasp the basic knowledge of human resource in recruitment and training; gasp the theory of inspiration and method of innovation.

Business Calculations

This module is intended to give students an introduction into the various aspects of Cost Accounting that they are likely to encounter in their working lives. The qualification at level 2 includes the application of knowledge to practical scenarios and introduces elements of management accounting, with a view to their progression opportunities onto qualifications in a similar field that incorporate management accounting techniques.

Cost Accounting

Cost Accounting is for learners who work in, or want to work in accounting environments where they will be required to produce cost information. This module provides the key knowledge and understanding of the role of cost accounting in business; cost relating to labour, material and overheads; marginal costing; coding systems and the role of management information systems in organisations. The module will also introduce students to the principle of decision making for Management Accounting with a view to preparing them for the Pearson Level 3 Certificate in Cost and Management Accounting (VRQ) qualification. This module is trusted and valued by the employers worldwide and recognized by universities and professional bodies. This level 2 qualification will increase their employability skills in the sector and allow progression to the Pearson LCCI Level 3 Certificate in Cost and Management Accounting (VRQ) qualification.

Bookkeeping and Accounting

The Pearson LCCI Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping and Accounting (VRQ) and the legacy qualification are established and valued by employers worldwide and recognised by professional bodies. All businesses require accurate bookkeeping records that are maintained in a regular basis. Consequently, there is a demand for employees who posses these skills. This qualification is intended for students who wish to gain a thorough foundation in bookkeeping and accounting practices, including double-entry bookkeeping. It is also for students who wish to understand bookkeeping and accounting in accordance with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

The qualification is also for those who are working, or who are preparing to work, in an accounting environment maintaining financial records and preparing accounts. This qualification will give learners the opportunity to develop an understanding of the basic principles underlying the recording of business transaction. It also give students the ability to prepare and interpret accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, manufacturing and non-profit making organizations. The Pearson LCCI Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping and Accounting (VRQ) will allow progression to other LCCI Level 3 Accounting qualifications and professional body qualifications, as well as supporting progression to the job market, for example to a bookkeeping and accounting role within a large company’s finance department. The Pearson LCCI Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping and Accounting (VRQ) will support learners who run their own business and who need to carry out their own bookkeeping and those already working in accounting who would like to enhance their skills.

Age:   At least 16 years old

Academic:   Minimum 3 passes at GCE ‘O’ Level or completion of high school or equivalent

For mature learners, candidate must be at least 21 years old with 5 years of related work experiences.

English Proficiency:   Pass in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or High School or equivalent
